Washington, DC resident Muhammad Salim, 58, was killed in a crash in Upper Marlboro early on Wednesday, Aug. 24 after being struck by a car that was later located by investigators.
Officers from the department were called at approximately 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning to the 10000 block of Frank Tippet Road in the unincorporated section of Upper Marlboro for a crash involving a motorcycle being driven by Salim, police said.
Upon arrival, the officers found Salim unresponsive on the side of the roadway and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The preliminary investigation determined that an unidentified driver struck Salmon in the eastbound lanes of Frank Tibbet Road and fled from the scene.
Officials said the vehicle was later located “through investigative means” and “now efforts are underway to identify the driver.”
No suspect has been identified. The incident remains under active investigation.
